The Merrimack Valley Area Transportation Company is looking for full-time Class A or Class B CDL drivers with Passenger and Air Brake endorsements and DPU certification. Applicants who do not currently have the endorsements or certifications but who can obtain them are encouraged to apply.
 Successful candidates must have a clean driving record and excellent customer service skills.

The Merrimack Valley Area Transportation Company has an immediate opening for a full-time Fleet Mechanic to perform work on our buses and vans. Applicants must hold a valid class B CDL license, or have the ability to obtain one.

To qualify you will need at least one year of experience in the repair and diagnostics of heavy duty trucks or buses. In accordance with union bidding procedures, the successful candidate may work on the first, second, or third shift. Mechanics must provide their own tools.

Position Summary

The Bus Stations Ambassador serves as a visible, customer-focused representative of Merrimack Valley Transit (MeVa) at McGovern Transportation Center (primary location), Haverhill Transit, Costello Transportation Center, aboard MeVa buses, and other assigned locations.

This role supports rider engagement, monitors station conditions, distributes informational materials, and works closely with Administration and Operations to promote a safe, welcoming, and professional transit environment. This is a non-management position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide directions, route assistance, and general travel information
  • Assist riders with accessibility and service-related questions
  • Explain detours, temporary stops, holiday schedules, and service updates
  • Distribute schedules, notices, surveys, and informational materials
  • Maintain a visible presence at assigned locations
  • Report maintenance, safety, or facility concerns promptly
  • Ensure stations are stocked with current printed materials
  • Maintain clean and organized informational displays

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

  • Regular on-site presence at covered and uncovered transit locations
  • Exposure to varying weather conditions
  • Frequent standing and walking (approximately 5–7 hours per shift)
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds
  • Schedule may include weekdays, weekends, early mornings, or evenings based on operational needs.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Ability to communicate fluently in English and Spanish
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Basic computer proficiency (email, simple documents)
  • Reliable transportation required
  • Ability to work independently and maintain professionalism in public environments

Job Title: General Accounting Manager

Reports to: Chief Compliance Officer

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The General Accounting Manager is a position reporting directly to the Chief Compliance Officer, with daily interaction with the entire MeVa Management Team in the performance of duties. This position is responsible for performing all finance and accounting functions. A list of specific types of activities is found in the attached Job Description. Recommended Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor Degree in Accounting or Finance and a minimum of 5-years in a financial managerial role in public (preferred) or private finance and accounting – an additional 5-years of accounting experience may be substituted for the educational requirements.
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office or similar desktop programs. Proficiency in Excel type programs is required. MeVa currently uses Sage (formerly Peachtree) for our accounting system, so working knowledge of this system is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Classification: Exempt (salaried position)
  • Salary: $80,000–$110,000; commensurate with experience
